One of the popular treks in the Indian Himalayan region that is located in Himachal Pradesh, the Chandrakhani Pass Trek covers a fascinating route with amazing view of Deo Tibba and Pin Parvati range. The journey covers the spectacles of Kullu valley, passing through a rich forest that is a home to several animal and bird species. Further, the trail cutting across small and gushing streams and walking through narrow ridges makes it more adventurous and strenuous. The Chandrakhani Pass Trek, which stretches from an elevation of 2,050 meters to 3,600 meters, despite being one of the moderate and low altitude treks in Himachal Pradesh requires the trekker to get acclimatized to the prevailing conditions. Moreover, the journey also echoes a strange Hindu myth. The legend goes back to a time when Jamlu (the presiding deity of Malana) was carrying a basket containing Gods of Kullu. On the top of the pass when he opened the basket, a very strong wind blew the Gods all over the Kullu valley to their present abodes where people can find them today at their respective temples. Since then the valley is known as the Valley of Gods. The Malana Village is a strong visual of culture in itself where the old traditions are still adhered. The Chandrakhani Pass Trek commences from Naggar, which is approximately 21 kilometers of drive from Manali. From Naggar the trail heads up to an altitude of 2,700 meters at Ganachalani en route to Rumsu and passing through a thick forest of deodar, pine and chestnut. From Ganachalani the trek turns to Celanti at 3,500 meters, which is 12 kilometers of trail and takes about 5 to 6 hours. The journey then snakes through a crazy and rocky track to Chandrakhani Pass and one can enjoy the magnificent view of the Ghalpo Peaks of Lahaul- Dharamsura at 6,446 meters and Papsura at 6,451 meters and the other high peaks in the upper Tosh valley, while the snow capped ranges of the Himala extend to the head of the Parvati Valley. From the pass the trail to Dadru remains about 100 meters below the ridgeline for a further 2-3 kms. It descends to the meadow at Nagarvani, which is at an elevation of 3,350 meters. From Dadru the trek moves down to Malana at 2,650 meters and thereafter descend to the valley floor at Jari that lies at an altitude of 1,520 meters. From Jari the Chandrakhani Pass trekking tour wheels and leads to Manali. Our other trek routes are Goechala Trek, Green Lake Trek, Sandakphu-Phalut Trek, Rachela (Neora Valley) Trek, Phoktey Dara Trek, Uttarey Dzongri Round Singalila Trek, Varsey Phalut Trek, Tosar Lake Trek etc.

Are you a seasoned trekker yearning for a hair-raising, eye-popping adventure?

Well then, how about a tremendous 17,451 ft. pass at an altitude of 4,520 mtr. closer to the sky, nuanced with a shifting panorama of the lush prairies of Parvati Valley at one end of the spectrum and Buddhist hamlets in the wintry dry desert of the Trans-Himalayan region of Spiti on the other end, painting the mural of luscious geography with an assortment of vivid culture, and diverse flora and fauna. May be the luminescent moon lands of Spiti are the places you were waiting for! Who knows, in the midst of dangling from pulley bridge at Tunda Bhuj, endeavoring way out of the quagmire of Mantalai swamps, gasping at the colossal pastures of Odi Thach, savoring hermitage in the dense forests near Kheerganga, and freezing at the glacier near the Pass, you may find your adventure, a companion….perhaps, even a story worth telling. What warms you up against the chilly glacier and seals the joyful experience in you is the relaxing dip of numb feet in the hot springs at Parvati Kund at Kheerganga. What an unwinding last lapse! The sweet fragrance of Losar and Brahmakamal flowers travels home with you and lingers on to leave an everlasting smile. The 11 days of sheer exhilaration begin at Kullu. A drive through the panoramic frame of dense alpine forests decorated with wild flowers, pristine lakes, wide glacier crests, and lavish meadow leads to Barsheni Village. The hot springs at Kheerganga, devoted to Lord Shiva, warm the spiritual self, this is followed by a camp amidst tall Birch trees in the bowl of mountains, Tunda Bhuz. The Kanawar Wild Life Sanctuary at Thakur kuan welcomes one after covering a distance of 5 hours. An 8-hours trek leads to the Pin side base camp above the Pin Parvati Pass at a height of 17,500ft. Incessant snowfall, monsoon rains, and ill-defined trails at higher altitude can leave even the most seasoned trekkers confounded. More precaution is called for as one reaches closer to Wichkurung Thatch. The treks fades into the 9-hours of picturesque hamlets as one treks from Kaza towards Manali for an overnight stay. If you have been intrigued enough to consider, let’s gallop to the modalities. Our other trek routes are Goechala Trek, Sandakphu-Phalut Trek, Rachela (Neora Valley) Trek, Phoktey Dara Trek, Uttarey Dzongri Round Singalila Trek, Varsey Phalut Trek, Tosar Lake Trek etc.
